LANTANA POLICE

ARMED ROBBERY

Three men knocked on the front door of an apartment in the 500 block of West Drew Street, then pushed their way into the residence. One man brandished a gun and threatened to shoot the woman who answered the door. The men began ransacking the house, demanding weed and money. As they were leaving, one of the men punched the woman in the face. When police arrived, they spoke to another resident who was not at home when the robbery occurred. He told police that about a pound and a half of marijuana was stolen by the intruders. He and the woman agreed to let police search the residence. Items police found included chocolate marijuana edibles, marijuana chewing gum, 60 containers of marijuana oil, two marijuana plants and almost 3,000 grams of pot. Police also found $9,277, a ledger that appeared to detail drug transactions, a Smith & Wesson .38 Special revolver containing five rounds and assorted drug paraphernalia. The intruders left behind a rubber glove and a shoe. The incident was captured on surveillance video, and several people in the area provided witness statements. The male occupant of the apartment claimed ownership of all the contraband. The incident is under investigation.

Two tires were slashed on a vehicle in the 100 block of South 11th Street. The victim told police he suspected his son was the culprit, as he was released from jail the previous night and has a history of criminal mischief.

THEFT

A tag was ripped off a vehicle in the 800 block of North Ridge Road.

Wanted fugitives in Palm Beach County

A man was hired to paint a vehicle at a business in the 900 block of Hypoluxo Road. The man told police he used his own tools and spent three days working on the car. When he finished, the store manager told him to leave his tools there and assured him they would be safe. The man returned the next day and his tools, a paint sprayer worth $1,000 and an air sander valued at $300, were missing. The manager allowed the man to look around the shop for his tools, but the man could find only a part of his sprayer. An officer spoke to the store manager, who said the victim and the officer could look around for the items. However, the victim and the manager got into an argument, and the manager rescinded his offer and demanded the victim leave the property.

WEST PALM BEACH POLICE

BURGLARY

Police arrested a man who was spotted walking through a parking lot in the 1100 block of South Flagler Drive carrying a cello, a skateboard and a first aid kit. The items were stolen from a nearby school’s music room. A background check on the man’s BMW showed it was stolen in Atlanta.

ROBBERY

A man was beaten and robbed of his cellphone and $700 in the 600 block of 37th Street. He was transported to a local hospital by Fire-Rescue.

When his friend knocked on his door and asked for water, a man in the 500 block of Cheerful Street obliged. But when a stranger approached and asked the man to borrow his cellphone, the man turned him down. The stranger then knocked the man’s cellphone out of his hand, picked it up off the ground and ran off.

Two men robbed a store in the 2200 block of Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard. While one man stood near the entrance as a lookout, the other demanded cash from the register. The duo got away with about $800 and fled in a beige Toyota Corolla. The robbery was caught on surveillance video.

BUSINESS BURGLARY

Someone stole $700 from a business in the 1700 block of 45th Street.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

A man in the 1700 block of North Congress Avenue refused to leave his residence to talk with a longtime friend, who wanted to discuss a disagreement they had a few days earlier. Angry, the friend began hurling rocks at the man’s home, shattering a sliding glass door. The man called police as his friend fled.

Someone damaged a window of a vehicle parked in the 1700 block of Village Boulevard. The vehicle was locked, and nothing inside was disturbed. Damage was estimated at $200.

A window was broken on a vehicle in the 6000 block of 60th Way. It appeared the damage was done by a BB gun or rock.

A window was shattered on a business in the 200 block of Sixth Street. Replacement cost was estimated at $5,000. Nothing inside the business was disturbed.

HOME BURGLARY

The front door of a home in the 2800 block of Iroquois Circle was kicked in while the resident was out of town. Police were alerted to the burglary by the homeowner’s alarm company. Nothing appeared to be stolen.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

A woman in the 2400 block of Second Avenue North reported that one tire on her vehicle was slashed. She told a deputy she believes the culprit is her ex-boyfriend, as they had a dramatic breakup and have been arguing back and forth via text messages.

THEFT

A man left his backpack next to his friend’s car in the 2000 block of 10th Avenue North. His friend moved the car, leaving the backpack out in the open and it was stolen.

STRONG-ARM ROBBERY

A man walking down Sixth Avenue South was approached by two men who punched him in the nose and stole his iPhone. The man could not provide a description of his assailants, nor did he wish to pursue the case. He refused treatment by the EMS.

SHERIFF’S OFFICE, ROYAL PALM BEACH

TRESPASSING

Two men found sleeping on the ground outside a building in the 1000 block of Royal Palm Beach Boulevard were given trespass warnings and told not to return to the premises for a year.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

Someone threw an unknown substance at a truck parked in the 11000 block of Southern Boulevard. Some of the liquid splashed onto a van parked adjacent to the truck.

UNWANTED GUEST

Two businesses in the 600 block of Royal Palm Beach Boulevard complained that for a man keeps coming to the property, causes a disturbance and defecates. A deputy gave the man a trespass warning from the property.

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT

A woman was approached by an unknown man in a parking lot in the 1100 block of Royal Palm Beach Boulevard. He accused her of hitting his car. When he realized her vehicle was not parked in the same row as his, he left. The woman told a deputy the man was in a red Nissan Sentra.

SHERIFF’S OFFICE, WELLINGTON

THEFT

A man went to a plaza in the 9300 block of Forest Hill Boulevard to meet a buyer for his cellphone. The buyer, a young male, was in the back seat of a Lincoln. He showed the seller cash and asked to see the phone. The seller handed him the phone, and the driver of the car sped off. The seller tried to hold on to the vehicle and was dragged a short distance.

Several pieces of equipment, including a power washer, were missing from a farm in the 4900 block of Stables Way. An individual who lives on the property is suspected of the thefts, as he has pawned several items that appear to be owned by the farm.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

A real estate agent reported damage to her signs in the 1500 block of East Road and the 1700 block of C Road. She said the metal signs were hit by some type of object that caused them to bend almost in half. Three signs, each valued at $60, were damaged.

A man in the 15100 block of Key Lime Boulevard told a deputy that an acquaintance he had not seen for several months pulled into his driveway, grabbed his cellphone, broke it on the ground and drove off.

THEFT

A loaded Glock 26 9mm pistol was reported missing by a woman in the 18000 block of 49th Street North. The woman said her pistol was locked in a case in her bedroom. She suspects the culprit to be her brother, who lives with her and hasn’t been seen in days. She said she believes he has a drug problem and sold or pawned the firearm.
