Took a risk making our Valentine's poetry competition the lead story in our internal newsletter, the "CERN Bulletin". But reactions have pleasantly surprised me, we're getting some great submissions! CERN people, you have until 25 February to enter: https://lnkd.in/ejnkCFHrWith thanks to Naomi Dinmore and Anaïs Schaeffer for going along with this idea and to Daniel D. for the graphics ❤️

Whether you're a fellow physics enthusiast or someone seeking a new perspective on love, this book aims to bridge the gap between scientific understanding and emotional experience. It's an invitation to see the parallels between the laws that govern our universe and the forces that shape our relationships. Let me know your feedbacks:https://lnkd.in/e62rXu3w

ANNOUNCING:Masterclass with Kirwyn Sutherland: Rearranging ErasureFrom Nicole Sealey's "The Ferguson Report" to Quenton Baker's "Ballast", poets using erasure to subvert, explain, or imagine new worlds within, found the text has captured my interest and engendered a question: How can we use the resultant text of erasure/blackout to shape new work? Using Malcolm Tariq's "Self Portrait as George Washington's Teeth" as a model, participants will create their own erasure/blackout poems from the found text they bring and then create new work in another shape/form whether or not that be another erasure or a completely new invention. Instructions: Participants should bring at least 2 non-poetry texts to work with. WHEN: Sunday, April 7, 2024 from 3PM - 5PMWHERE: VirtualCOST: $45 (General Admission), $25 (Students)Reserve your spot ASAP! Link here: https://buff.ly/48NjqhT

The Theoretical Minimum series by Leonard Susskind is just amazing! Can't say I read every book in this series (or pretend to understand everything in there), just the first introductory book starts so amazing, you can imagine the rest! Highly recommended!#booklover #physicsisfun #reading #lovephysics

The universe keeps steering the double slit experiment into my life.In algorithms, books & audiobooks on other subjects, & in conversations.Reminds me of when you hear a word & then it pops up all over the place. The only area I can connect it to is thoughts about black & white thinking which is part of one of my disabilities. It’s a super position to be in.https://lnkd.in/gySmUg_z

My first solo author paper is now published!🪼🪼🪼Within, I report that ants eat the venomous man of war. While this is a simple observation, documenting basic interactions are an important part of the scientific process. Enjoy! (If you don't have access let me know.)https://lnkd.in/g2DZpAAE
