How come it doesn't say how long to put the peppers/capsicum in the oven the first time? 2 mins? 20 mins? Help!

Step 3 addresses the amount of time in the oven - just while you prepare the filling, or you can skip that step if you prefer a crunchier pepper.

You can use any kind of cheese you prefer. When it's not crucial to the dish, we try to leave the options open as cheese availability can vary by region and country.

I've made these a couple times and they are very tasty, but I'm a lazy cook and don't like to cook things twice, so I just stuff the pepper halves with the raw meat mixture and bake longer and they turn out great (just a bit more "juice" in the casserole pan at the end). That way you don't have to pre-bake the peppers or brown the beef first!

I made this last night, another tasty recipe. I placed the peppers in the oven for 10 mins before filling with the cooked mince. Surprisingly light meal but filling👍🏻

These are my go too. So simple and delicious. I was wondering if you had the nutritional facts. Keto for 3yrs now and I know they more then good for keto. Just curious as I saw another recipe that had one stuffed pepper at 15gr carbs.

These are 15g net carbs per serving and are a moderate low carb recipe. The number 15 in the orange circle reflects that. I make them like Kristie does, without roasting the peppers or frying the meat beforehand. This gives you a bit of tasty broth in the casserole. I also reduce the carbs by using onion and garlic powder and leaving out the tomatoes. Then it qualifies as keto!

I am trying to understand what makes this recipe a “yellow” in terms of carb count. Is it the size/amount of bell peppers or the crushed tomatoes? Thanks.

A recipe can't have more than 4% calories coming from carbs, and ideally is lower in carb count than this recipe in order to get a green circle. You can read more here - https://www.dietdoctor.com/how-low-carb-is-low-carb

Steps 4, 5 and 6 contain additional instructions and step 7 says to place the baking dish in the oven.
